Observation notes: Spotted a large group of Fatal Metalmarks while walking the dry bed of Santa Maria Creek in San Pasqual Valley, feasting on healthy Heliotrope growing on sandy berms in the creek bed. This was the best locality for this species I have found. There were dozens of them. Temps were in the mid 90’s, with clear skies and an occasional breeze.
