Observation notes: Mating pair perched on oceanspray (Holodiscus discolor) in mixed oak-conifer forest on west-facing sunny slope next to hiking trail. Surrounding flowers include ookow, balsamroot, lupine, phacelia, desert parsley, poison oak, groundsel. Temperatures in mid 80s F, calm wind.
