A new Davidson County, Tennessee record of the Southern Pink Moth (Pyrausta inornatalis) was added to the database from Michael Lee Bierly and James K. Adams.

A new Grant County, Kansas record of the Arizona Sister (Adelpha eulalia) was added to the database from Carol Adams.

Forty-four new California butterfly records were added to the database from Ron Storey, Chris Grinter, Chris Durden, Bill Gendron & Dennis Walker, and Ken Davenport. (CA-14May09)

A new Tulsa County, Oklahoma record of the Eastern Tiger Swallowtail (Papilio glaucus) was added to the database from Misty Burkett. (TX-OK-5May09)

Thirty new Texas butterfly and moth records were added to the database from Maury  J. Heiman III, John & Molly Kaye, Dawn Walsh, Tammy Shurn, Hannah Davis, Tatum Fusco, Gina Helm, Wanda Smith, and Kelly Mortensen. (TX-OK-5May09)

A new Pawnee County, Nebraska record of the Polyphemus Moth (Antheraea polyphemus) was added to the database from Leslie Pittman.

Thirty-three new photographs were added to the database from photographer Wanda Smith for the following species: Anthocharis midea, Phoebis philea, Automeris io, Desmia funeralis, Dryocampa rubicunda, Dyspteris abortivaria, Erastria cruentaria, Galgula partita, Harrisina americana, Hypsoropha monilis, Monoleuca semifascia, Pyrausta inornatalis, Pyrausta subsequalis, Thyris sepulchralis, Xylophanes tersa, Zale lunata, Anthanassa texana, Urola nivalis.
