Observation notes: Probably fell from oak tree onto deck. 1 1/2" Stocky and relatively stiff-bodied, not at all lithe--not slender and bendable like a gypsy or tent moth caterpillar. Distinctive black eye-goggles; lower part of face lighter (yellowish?). Held a heads-up defensive posture (arching its neck, looking at the sky)
