Observation notes: I believed that this was a clearwing moth taken in my native gardens. I recently saw a post from a newsletter from McHenry County Conservation District showing a picture of a carmenta anthrapennis taken 8 miles from my house. Since this moth looked very similar to the picture, I wanted to check the ID. This moth was seen on a virgina creeper vine leaf.
