Observation notes: Thousands of larvae were observed in the fen habitat feeding on blackberry (Rubus setosus) leaves, willow (Salix petiolaris, S. serissima) leaves, short-tailed rush (Juncus brevicaudatus) leaves and flowers, and leaves of small sedge species (Carex spp.) and cotton grass (Eriophorum spisum). This one was apparently feeding on leaves of bog birch (Betula pumila).
