Observation notes: Both males and females were observed feeding on cultivated rabbitbrush. Only plant still blooming in the area.

Coordinator notes: Very nice photos of both sexes of the Purplish Copper. This is a late date for observing this butterfly...possibly the latest date although my early/late list is not up-to-date (from 2001)...date listed is Oct. 19 from Crowley County. Will submit as a late date and see if the Lep Soc season summary editor can verify. Mike
