Observation notes: This butterfly was at the stream crossing .6 mile from parking area on Upper Water Canyon Trail in Los Alamos County. I only saw this one specimen of this kind during our hike. I am submitting these photos because I like the detail of the butterfly's face in the first and of the "fur" near the body in the other view.
