Observation notes: Found 1 checkerspot, a female in grasses, and enjoying basking by a damp mud puddle - photo #2. Was very surprised to find it, So then took a walk through the swampy area near the stream on this property and found a male - Photo #1 LOOK it has an extra row of white checkers and white around the upper orange markings.
