Observation notes: Within the Pinyon-Juniper forest that is just below the northern edge of the Llano Estacado in NM (a very large flat grassland area). It is a small finger of habitat that extends the range of pinyon-juniper (mostly juniper) from NM into the Texas panhandle. Found on the edge of this forest on the more grassy highway right-of-way.
