Subfamily: Larentiinae
Identification: Wings pale gray with many fine, broken, dotted, or scalloped lines. Median area in male defined by wide blackish am. line and curved upper half of pm. line (lower half absent). Median area same color as rest of forewing in male; darker brown in female. Tiny black discal dots on all wings.
Wing Span: 1.7-2.3 cm.
Life History:
Flight: March-October.
Caterpillar Hosts: Low plants such as knotweed and smartweed.
