Observation notes: I found this creature last night (4/25)on a tropical sage plant (Salvia coccinea) in my butterfly garden. It was moving. When I went out this morning, it was on the same plant, but a different section of it. I thought it was a caddisfly pupa, but several people on Facebook told me it is some sort of moth pupa. First photo was taken last evening at 7:10 pm, second this morning at about 7:50 am. Nearby plants include a parsley which had a final instar black swallowtail caterpillar on it, which disappeared yesterday (eaten by bird or went into chrysalis stage??) PS: I do not know how to add a watermark to my photos.
