Coordinator notes: I can see why you thought this was a square-spotted blue but that species does not occur in the Rocky Mts. As a collector this is a "keeper" because it is aberrant in its markings on the underside. These tend to be quite uncommon, usually rare in nature and as such they are great novelties in a collection. You can compare this male to the underside of a normal Rocky Mountain Dotted Blue on the website or butterfliesofamerica.org. Mike
