Observation notes: We found this caterpillar on our front porch next to a guava that had some chewed leaves. Looked dead, but very responsive(aggressive) when touched. Tried to put him on my guava and he shook off almost immediately. I've now tried to place it on my passion fruit and it's been there for about 45 minutes. Seems to be more inclined to staying there. We get lots of monarchs, but I've not seen this one before. We also have various citrus, olive, pomegranate and a cherimoya, though I don't know of any native insects attracted to it. That's in the front yard, which I suspect is where he's originated. Oh and Thompson Seedless.
