Georgia Satyr
Neonympha areolatus

Observation notes: I found this beautiful Georgia Satyr in a frequently burned, nearly pristine longleaf pine woodland. These satyrs are locally abundant here, but rarely allow for a close approach. It was resting on a pea vine, Crotalaria purshii.
