Observation notes: Sunny, breezy, about 80-85 degrees, humid. The butterfly landed on a leafy stem, about three feet high, and stayed there with wings folded for several minutes. Nearby were ironweed, joe pye weed, goldenrod, wingstem, mint, cattails, oak, sycamore, locust, willow, mixed grasses and tall weeds, next to a shallow pond.
