Observation notes: Partly cloudy, 80 degrees, humid. This butterfly and a red-spotted purple were eating/inspecting the partially consumed lower section of a deer leg. It flitted over to the pavement, and briefly took a break before returning to its lunch. Nearby were mixed weeds and grasses, ironweed, joe pye weed, milkweed, goldenrod, redbud, sassafras, oak, beech, black cherry, maple, grapevines.
