Observation notes: Sunny, 82 degrees, light breeze, low humidity. The butterfly was intently gathering nectar from a spray of wingstem . Nearby were oak, maple, sycamore, cherry, locust, beech, sweet gum, dogwood, buckeye, multiflora rose, goldenrod, wingstem, joe pye weed, boneset, tall thistle, lobelia, red clover, mouse ears, cinnamon vine, honeysuckle, poison ivy, grape vines.
