Observation notes: Sunny, 82 degrees, light breeze, low humidity. Along with two others of the same species, the butterfly was intently gathering nectar from a Tall Thistle . Nearby were oak, maple, sycamore, cherry, locust, beech, sweet gum, dogwood, buckeye, multiflora rose, goldenrod, wingstem, joe pye weed, boneset, tall thistle, lobelia, red clover, mouse ears, cinnamon vine, honeysuckle, poison ivy, grape vines.
