Observation notes: Sunny, about 70 degrees F. Other species of butterflies were also foraging on this bush. This was located in a dry wash where this species of plant as well as a few other bushes were still blooming on this November day. The body color of this butterfly doesn't come across in the cell phone pictures. The ventral side of the abdomen was vibrant dark orange. The dorsal side of the abdomen was bright blue. Striking.
