Observation notes: Time: 2:30 p.m. Temperature: ~65 degrees. Wind Speed: ~15 mph. Sky: Mostly sunny. Notes: It was still too dry to see many butterflies and moths out on the grasslands; usually the Pawnee has gotten much more moisture by now and is much more lush. Later in the day, when the wind had picked up to at least 15 mph, I found a ditch and nearby riparian area that hosted a small population of Clouded Sulphurs, along with this very interesting moth (which I mistook for a white pierid when I first saw it flying). The only flowering plants I saw here (or anywhere) were dandelions and sand lilies (Leucocrinum montanum).
