Observation notes: Clouds and sun off and on. Found this skipper towards the end of my survey. After checking several guides and the internet I'm feeling fairly sure that it's an Umber Skipper. If true it will be a first for me in Mendocino County and a new Big River Haul Road butterfly. According to BAMONA and iNaturalist it seems to be sort of rare north of the Bay Area.
