Observation notes: Sunny, humid, about 85 degrees, breezy. The butterfly was feeding on a small stand of dogbane, going from flower to flower. Nearby were oak, maple, beech, elm, locust, sycamore, redbud, sassafras, dogwood, grapevines, poison ivy, mixed roadside grasses.
