Coordinator notes: Your suggested ID is correct, the Mormon Fritillary. Yes, this fritillary had an exceptional flight this year and was abundant in many locations in western Colorado. I was around Gothic in mid-July and there were literally hundreds there on the wing and at wet spots as in your photo where they were or could be found along roads and trails. Mike
