Observation date: July 14, 2018
Submitted by: A_baldini
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: Time: 12:20 p.m. Weather: Hot, breezy, and sunny. Habitat: Seen near a small area of standing water within a transitional ecotone (mix of upland shrub and upland forest vegetation, as indicated by mountain mahogany and conifer trees growing side-by-side). Notes: This was the only Taxiles Skipper I saw on the entire hike. It briefly nectared on some wild bergamot, as seen in one of the photos.
Status: Resident

Coordinator notes: Correct identification of the Taxiles Skipper, including sex (unmistakable because females are dimorphic from the very yellow males). Mike
