Observation notes: Several seen in an area of short vegetation among taller grasses. Known location for this species. Former prairie dog colony, currently grazed by cattle. Prairie dogs have been gone since 2013, but the butterfly population persists. Some fresh individuals, plus one that was very worn. Several males following females closely.

Coordinator notes: Christian, Perhaps you read in the Colorado skipper section in the text for this species I wrote - that James Scott found female sabuleti prefer to lay eggs on chewed short grass an inch or less long so if this site doesn't get beat into bare ground from too many cows and overgrazing, sabuleti will probably continue to do well into the future.
