Observation notes: Outside Starbucks, I noticed a teasing flutter twice behind me in the reflection of my phone. It looked like a cute little white angel, so I figured I would turn my head to see what was fluttering behind me. Before I knew it, this moth fluttered down and decided to land on the meat of my thumb. It was very chilly outside, and fairly breezy. My fingers were freezing, but my thumb felt okay, so I figured it picked that spot for warmth. I was also wearing a black coat with a white acrylic sweater peeking out of my sleeve, making a perfect spot for it's camouflage. The outside walls of the coffee shop were light-colored, as well, from where it fluttered down from. After a few minutes, I needed to leave, so I curled my fingers to protect it from the cold wind as I walked. My fingers were painfully cold, so I carefully stuck it in my pocket for about 15 seconds until I felt the moth tapping its feet inside. I retrieved my hand from my pocket and found it had perked up, so I walked several feet more until I stopped to look in my purse for something. Having had kept a wide gap between my thumb and index finger to give it the choice to leave whenever it wanted to, it decided to climb out and fly away over my shoulder, likely to take shelter under the eaves of Silvercup Coffee I stopped in front of. We had travelled a total of 1.5 blocks.
