Observation notes: Male Consistent with your Photo's, Butterflies of America and Emmil and Emmil Butterflies of southern California. Hot day mid seventies to mid eighties in grassy area with lots of oaks mostly blue oak and Inland live oak. Also some inland scrub oak, sunny lots of biting flies. Scent Gland Consistent with male on forewing leading edge!
