Observation notes: On a large Mock Vervain bush bordering a small partially shaded trail, I spotted this brilliant yellow butterfly with a single dark spot on the dorsal forewing. It also exhibited delicate scarlet etching along the edge of the wings and some veining. There is also a distinctive, almost comma-shaped, point on the outside forward edge of the wing. On the same bush a Painted Lady and a Duskywing were also feeding together.
