Observation notes: As I was leaving the demonstration gardens, I thought I would check the milkweed plants where I'd seen the Monarch caterpillar earlier to make sure I didn't miss any other ones and was pleasantly surprised to find I had missed seeing a Monarch chrysalis dangling from another Common Milkweed plant about 2' away from where I'd seen the caterpillar! Beautiful little jewel nicely camouflaged within the leaves, about 1 -1.25" in length. Weather: 75 degrees, 54% humidity, mostly clear skies.
