Empress Leilia
Asterocampa leilia

Observation date: November 07, 2019
Submitted by: calidris
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: We are camping at Catalina State Park near Tucson Arizona. This butterfly first came and fed on an orange we had cut in half and put on a tree. It then went and rested on a tree limb. The images are of the butterfly with it's wings out and then with it's wings folded, same butterfly, same spot on the tree. I think it is an Empress Leilia because of the coloration and the markings on both the top wing and underside.
