Observation notes: Snow and cold this morning, 30 F on the front porch. Winds from the SW at @ 5 mph. These moths have been here for the past 4 days, must be a hatch nearby. They are attracted to the porch light. There is no vegetation above ground to feed on, so to speak. The revelation here is 4800 feet, in the Modoc physiographic province of northeastern California.
