Coordinator notes: It is not a case of sexual dimorphism, its a case of a wide range of individual variation within the patterns of both Callophrys dumetorum (now = Callophrys perplexa) and Callophrys viridis (the former dumetorum). The two cannot always be reliably separated. How far north perplexa (actually the southern California subspecies goes north and what nominate dumetorum is is not well established, research is needed-Ken Davenport. BAMONA names here are inaccurate.-Ken Davenport
