Observation notes: Went with H. pehaska because found in desert foothills, no oak. Not sure if it is possible to tell apart from H. viridis.

Coordinator notes: Pahaska and Green skippers are hard to tell apart. Some clues are on the underside of the hindwing (get photo if possible). Another clue can be where in the landscape you saw it. Pahaska males like hilltops, while Green males patrol arroyos and drainage bottoms. Because you placed your dot on LaLuz Trail, I'm assuming you were not in a drainage, so I'm going with Pahaska. Its good to be skeptical with these two.
