Observation notes: I submit this photo not because the species was rare for date/location, but because it shows a rather aberrant individual. All of the others (~30) of this species seen that day were 'normal', in that they showed pronounced and easily visible white FW/HW lines, and pronounced green and copper colors. This individual was dull by contrast, though this may be a function of age and scale loss perhaps.

Coordinator notes: Elaine, I'm glad you submitted this. it is a very worn Western Green Hairstreak. Most of the green scales are gone, but the pattern of white spots makes it clearly affinis. Check your field guide and see if you agree.
