Observation notes: Raised on Ulmus laevis (Russian elm), found on June 20 as a late stage larva. It ate in blotches on the leaf by stopping and seeing its bag to the leaf and eating a small range around where the bag was tied onto the leaf. After eating away a sizeable area, maybe 1-2cm squared, it would move to a different part of the leaf and repeat. It pupated inside of its bag around June 30 (it was hard to tell if it was just not eating or if it was pupated then) and eclosed today, August 15. The fourth image shows the empty “case” the larva beared.
