Observation notes: In the grass along the side of a path. This is the feedback from Moths of Eastern North America. Looks like Pyrausta fodinalis. P. socialis has a noticeable rosy flush to the wings (but this can be misleading in photos). Also, P. socialis is more associated with prairie regions in the northern Great Lakes region (but does creep into the edge of the boreal zone in northwestern MN, in dry habitats with prairie elements) - I'd be surprised to see it in your area. P. fodinalis is more widespread across the "north woods", but is certainly not common.

Coordinator notes: I'm leaving some of these moths with a status of "Unknown" since there are no records on BG or MPG maps. Another nice find.
