Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: When I took the photo this skipper was resting on the outside of some flower petals of a red peony flower (variety 'Scarlet O'Hara'). It was disturbed a few times by an Eastern Carpenter Bee and they appeared to chase each other around. But the skipper always returned back to land on one of the peony blooms. I zoomed to 200 mm on my 70 to 200 mm zoom lens. The skipper seemed skittish and I didn't want to disturb it. Plus I didn't want to walk through my plantings.
