Observation notes: On an extremely windy (SE-to-NW) and partially overcast morning, this individual metalmark flew froam a range ratany short-shrub then selected gravel and small cobble of the main hiking trail to land and display. It lay flat between large gravel so as not to be buffeted by the wind.
