Coordinator notes: persius and afranius are a tough pair to distinguish. they look very similar even when fresh. this is a rather unremarkable individual and could be either one. one handy rule of thumb is that male afranius patrol drainages while male persius are hilltoppers. best way to get a confirmed persius sighting is to look on hilltops. this one is along a creek so I go with afranius.
