Observation notes: Noticed this large white butterfly settling into a tall spruce tree late in the afternoon where it may have roosted for the night. The color alone suggested this as Pale Swallowtail, but unable to get a better photo or good dorsal view.

Coordinator notes: I think you are correct. The broad white stripe on side of abdomen seems to fit and the VHW black bands seem to be more eurymedon than rutulus.
