Observation notes: Thanks for sharing the link again, I had wondered why iNat no longer had an option for H. abdominalis, looks like I’ll have to go through those again to see where they should be placed. I always appreciate your aptitude for finding such helpful resources! That’s interesting that moths that aren’t normally seen are turning up this year. Marine Blues have also been showing up in the state at a much higher rate than normal (I think at least 9 have been observed this year from what I’ve heard). The same has been true for Odonata, as earlier this season a few southern species that normally aren’t detected here showed up in unusual numbers. I wonder if the same is true for the moths that we’ve been seeing.

Coordinator notes: I contacted Les Ferge at WES to see if he thought there were more unusual moths showing up in the state but he didn't think so. His reply -- "I do not regularly follow the various websites, but took a look at BAMONA. I think it is a combination of more people reporting from different sites with different habitats. Even with that in mind, I did not think there were a lot of unusual records so far in 2022. The online resources are far from complete. "
