Observation notes: 10+ individuals of this species seen while I was out observing. Individuals were cruising up and down the East Fork Jemez river along the Las Conchas trail (and hanging out on my leg :).

Coordinator notes: That spot is full of Great Spangled Frits. note the amber eyes (southwestern northwestern have gray/blue eyes) and the broad blond submarginal band on the hindwing underside. Frits are challenging to ID, so I'm glad you got dorsal and ventral shots.
