Coordinator notes: This is actually a Gray Buckeye (Junonia grisea), recently shown to be a different species than the Common Buckeye (Junonia coenia). The Dark Buckeye (Junonia nigrosuffusa) strays into the eastern Mojave Desert in San Bernardino County, the Common Buckeye occurs futher east.-Ken Davenport
