Observation notes: Butterfly was flitting around and resting in an open grassy field in a local sports park. Fairly small size. no distal black spots on hind wing as for Orange Sulphur. Butterflies of Oregon notes Western Sulphur can fly until early November. Mild sunny day.

Coordinator notes: The habitat is wrong for Colias occidentalis and the date and field marks look like an Orange Sulphur. For verifying Colias occidentalis, actual specimens are often needed....Ken Davenport
