Observation notes: An individual buckeye perched on plant litter, avoiding light wind gusts blowing across the Rio Grande. Noticeably dark butterfly, please note the pinkish color of the hindwing fringe. No ventral wing images could be obtained. The afternoon was warm cloudy, and with light wind.
