Observation notes: Reared from Quercus rubra. Larva found actively mining the leaf on 8/27/21. The mine was an upper surface trumpet mine with most of the frass packed in pellets at the beginning of the mine. The pupal chamber was spun on 8/28 and can be seen in the third and fourth images (the fourth being taken on 8/30, the third being taken after eclosion as evidenced by the protruding spent pupa at the left). The cocoon was put in a fridge in late October 2021 and taken out on 3/5/22. The adult eclosed 3/21/22. The adult had a FW length of 5.4mm.
