Observation notes: Observed a couple dozen of these nectaring and hilltopping near Monitor Pass just before the steep grade descent to the east. Mostly on yellow Buckwheat. Two different individuals pictured, one was more 'coastal' looking, and the other was more grey and washed out on the underside. Hundreds of white-lined Sphinx moths were zipping everywhere, nectaring on Coyote Mint.
