Observation notes: Observed in a row of wild Buckwheat, Sage, an unknown thistle, lining a border between the trail and a small summit meadow. Acmon Blue was observed in this place a month prior to this sighting. This individual appears very similar to the Acmon Blue, with a prominent orange band on the hindwing (upper and lower). However some minor orange was also observed on the upper forewing as points in the edge fuzz and coloration of a distal crescent mark on the upper forewing near where it leaves under the hindwing. I would be satisfied with an Acmon Blue determination, as long as it is acceptable to have some orange in the forewing. Otherwise maybe a Melissa or Lupine Blue.

Coordinator notes: It is too late in the season for Clemence's Blue, now known to be another species not a Lupine Blue and its not a Melissa Blue which lack orange auroras on the hind wings in the males...Ken Davenport
