Observation notes: Near Notch Mountain in the White River National Forest. Partly cloudy day in the 70’s F with breezes and between 8-9K feet elevation.

Coordinator notes: Your ID is technically correct...in western Colorado is subspecies flavula (differs from eastern slope calydon). Genetics indicates flavula is a separate species-level taxon and both Colorado subspecies belong to flavula so we might need a different common name...perhaps "Flavula Checkerspot." Mike
